Mumtalakat praised for exposing Alba corruption
Crown Prince and BDF Commander-in-Chief Shaikh Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa last night praised the efforts of Bahrain Mumtalakat Holding Company in unearthing financial corruption at Alba.
Instances of bad governance should be exposed so as to guard the principles of transparency and preserve public money, he said lauding Alba’s efforts to reinforce its audit systems.
Also, such an attitude will reflect the kingdom’s comprehensive reforms and underline the fact that Bahrain is truly embarking on a new phase characterised by a serious clampdown on financial and government corruption.
The Crown Prince made his remarks as he received at Riffa Palace Finance Minister and Mumtalakat chairman Shaikh Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, deputy chairman Mahmood Al Kooheji and member Shaikh Mohammed bin Isa bin Mohammed Al Khalifa.
Serving the country is a moral and patriotic duty, Shaikh Salman added, saying that people should not look for petty gains or personal interests.
Shaikh Ahmed, on his part, said he had briefed the Crown Prince on the audit report into financial irregularities at Alba and the steps the company has taken to bring the implicated employees to justice.
