Al Wefaq raps attack on police
Al-Wefaq National Islamic Society yesterday condemned the arson attack by masked thugs on a police patrol vehicle in Abu Saebaa’ village. The vehicle was attacked on Saturday night with Molotov cocktail while it was on routine work in the village, injuring two policemen.
“This attack is condemned by all society members,” the society said in a statement issued yesterday.
“This act clearly targets the security and safety of people in this peaceful country.
“These sabotage and vandalism are causing disturbance in the country and is affecting people’s businesses and interests, leading the country into panic and fear.
“The responsibility of peace is not in the hands of the Interior Ministry, but in the people of this country, too.
“People should stay away from such acts, which violate Islamic, social, national and legal principles, values and ethics, and are a threat to the nation’s peace and stability.
“We wish that the two policemen injured in the incident speedy recovery.”
The policemen Abdulla Ahmed Tarada and Doray Thabt are being treated at the BDF Hospital with burns to their hands and feet.
The arsonists fled the scene and are currently being hunted by the police.
