The Bahraini owner of the ill-fated Al Dana was further remanded in custody yesterday, reports Mohammed Al A’Ali.

He was still under police guard in the Salmaniya Medical Complex yesterday, after collapsing in custody with blood pressure problems last Wednesday.

The businessman was originally remanded in custody for seven days last Tuesday, for questioning over the death of 58 people, when the dhow capsized on March 30.

This was extended by a judge yesterday, following a request by Public Prosecution director Nawaf Hamza. He confirmed the extension, but said he did not yet have full details.
