National Championship kicks off at BIC

mini challenge on the home straight at the bic, bahrainThe National Championship kicked off yesterday at the Bahrain International Circuit in its 6th round, with 3 series included Bapco Caterham, Mini Cooper Challenge, and FBMW.

The BIC championship is the first of its kind in the region bringing local and gulf champions to battle it out in the high-speed world of single-seater racing. The championship includes the Bapco Caterham Challenge, the BMW Performance Centre’s Formula BMW Championship and the Thunder Arabia Championship.

While Bahraini Ali AlKobaisi grabbed pole position for the Mini Cooper Challenge, followed by Talal AlGaith and Salah Salahuddin, FBMW and Bapco caterham went through practice sessions and qualifying for tomorrow’s race, which will start at 10 A.M.

The event is open to the public and tickets, priced at a token BD1, will be available at booths outside the BIC on Friday.
