Bahrain women lift soccer title

The Bahrain women’s team defeated Abu Dhabi 3-2 in the final of the first Arab Women’s Soccer Championship at the Abu Dhabi Officers Club grounds in the UAE last night.
Bahrain led 1-0 at half-time, thanks to a goal by Marwa Abdul Karim.
In the second-half, Bahrain extended the lead through Marwa and Zain Al Khalifa.
The team, coached by Khalid Al Harban, were congratulated by the General Organisation for Youth and Sports president Shaikh Fawaz bin Mohammed Al Khalifa. The team will return home tonight at 11.30pm.
Bahrain played five matches in all and won all, including a 4-0 victory ove Syria in the semi-finals. Jordan, Lebanon, and Nomads, a local side, were the other sides in the fray.
